Road Closure in Chaves County
A huge thank you to one of our members for alerting us to this potential road closure. The road closure being discussed is Felix River Ranch Road in Unit 32 (find details about the road here). This road goes to the unitized area designated by NMDGF. You can see the map on the NMDGF website. This road is off Highway 13 in Chaves County, and closing the road would result in hunters having to drive 40 miles out of the way to access this unit. The next meeting of the Chaves County Commission is Thursday, April 20th - save the date and try to attend this meeting and say you oppose the road closure! You can also find the contact information for the commissioners on the Chaves County website - contact them today! We will send more details as the agenda is posted.

Fishing Clinic Success with Nuestra Tierra!
A huge thank you to Muddy River Catfishing, Lucas Hernon, and Cheo Hitchens of Enigma Fishing for helping Nuestra Tierra host a fishing clinic with the Boys & Girls Club of Las Cruces last week. The kids learned about fishing, conservation, and one lucky participant got a free rod for catching the first fish!
